Spring Break!!!

I know that spring break is a time that everyone looks forward to every year just like summer. I know my kids do and I am happy for them to get some time off to sit at home and complain about how bored they are and call me at work and bitch and complain.

My question is....when are we going to get a "break"?? I have had several friends ask me if I was going to take off with my kids for spring break and my answer is "HELL NO, I see them in the evenings every day and on the weekends." Why should I take off to spend more time with them...that is why I have a job in the first place. FREE TIME....

My suggestion is all parents should get a "Parent's Break", one week out of every year to take off and do nothing while the kids are at school....this is not to be confused with "Vacation" because don't we all usually take vacation to do things with the family? Us parents need a break too!!!! It should be manditory for all companies to give one week off for "parent's break"....I'm just suggesting!!!

P.S. Please don't get me wrong I love my kids but they drive me CRAZY!!!!

American Idol!!

A little switch up last night putting the guys first but that made me happy because I disagree with Simon and I think the guys are much better than the girls this year!!! Hope Crystal Bowersox is ok and she gets to perform tonight because she is my favorite in the girls!!!

Last night was MUCH MUCH better than last week!!!

Love Jermaine Sellers and his green dinosaur onesie… I need to get my husband one of those because he is always complaining about it being cold in my house. With that said, I think he needs to go home….he's not the best singer and keeps picking the wrong songs!!
Also think that Tim Urban should go home this week…cute kid and he can sing but he won’t win, send him home!!!!

My favorite this week and might end up being my favorite over Andrew is Lee DeWyze!! I love his voice and he reminds me of someone but I just can’t put my finger on it…. I don’t know if he looks like someone or if it is his voice but I just can’t figure it out….help me!!!!!

One more thing....Idol isn't the same this year because I don't have Laurie to talk to. I use to get up the morning after idol and couldn't wait to get to work so we could talk about our favorites and of course who SUCKED but Laurie and I do not work together anymore :( and I am sad. Guess we'll have to have a few idol parties!!!! Miss you Laurie!!
On a Positive note....I have my best friend Roxy addicted now!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!

Spoke too Soon!!!!!

I guess I spoke too soon when I said that Febuary was going good, Guess I couldn't have finished out the month like that though, right!!!! So while coming back from lunch on Thursday last week, Feb 25th (the date will matter in a minute), my clumsy ass falls down the stairs in the parking garage!! Before you start to cry, I am ok.....I banged up my knee a little and thought I broke my toe but I am ok...a few bruises and the feeling like someone beat me up but that is about it!!! I think I am use to that by now.

SO I said the date will matter, this is why. Last night by daughter, MaKayla, points out to me that on January 25th I fell in the shower (broken rib) and when I fell down the stairs was also the 25th.....WTF!!! So I have decided that on March 25th I am going to stay in bed all damn day!!!

Anyway, on to AMERICAN IDOL!!!! I was very disapointed last week, first in the competition and second in the judges. Are they just hearing totally different then what we are hearing?!?!?!? I won't go too much into it this week but I thought the girls did horrible and the guys a little better but not what I expected. I still think the guys are going to blow the girls away.

MY FAV is Andrew Garcia....I think he did great last week

Hello All,

It's been a while since I have posted and for that I apologize!!! I figure since my friend, we won't name any names (roxy), emailed me and told me that my blog sucked I better get to it....

It is an understatement to tell you that things have been CRAZY in my life. Here is a little rundown to get you caught up!!!

December:

lost my job
Blayne had CLEAR scans...WOOOOHOOO!!!
got my job back
END of 2009!!!!

January:

New job starts.....LOVE IT!!!
Dallas Cowboys Game in Dallas...Roxy and I had an AWESOME weekend!!
ER visit - ruptured cyst....VERY BAD pain and sick for a week & 1/2
Slipped and fell in shower....broke my rib and sprained my thumb, OUCH!!!
My birthday...HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me.....I'm 29!!!!

Febuary:

Let's just say that I haven't broken any bones or been to the doctor yet so it's been a good month....BUSY and CRAZY but good!!! I have learned alot about myself this month. Things are looking UP!!!

Ok, so now that I have given you the rundown and you are caught up I will try to keep up from now on. TONIGHT is American idol and I am VERY excited!!! Will blog about that tomorrow!!!

I am ready for 2010 for MANY reasons but one thing I am VERY excited about coming up in January is......are you ready???? AMERICAN IDOL!!!!

I am a BIG American Idol fan....I can't wait for a new season and something to take my mind off of this very crazy end to 2009. Laurie, you better get ready for the late night phone calls since we can't talk about it at work!!!

In the meantime here is a video from American Idol winner David Cook...he is amazing and this proves it. This is him singing "Lie" on the Carrie Underwood Holiday Special and to me, this was the entire show....WAY better then anything else or anyone else on the show!!!! This gives me chills!!!

Ok, I know it's been a while since I posted anything. It's been a VERY crazy last couple of months. Lots going on with the holidays plus family and my job turned upside down. I pray that things start to slow down and my life starts to fall back into place. One VERY good thing...I know I have mentioned my son Blayne who was diagnosed with a rare form of childhood cancer in June of 2007. Well on the 10th we went to Texas Children's Hospital for his 4 month check up and scans. It was confirmed he has been 2 years CANCER FREE!!!! Hearing that just makes all my other problems just go away...after having a very bad couple of weeks and more to come I feel very blessed.

Now we are ready for a new year!!! Bring on 2010 and another year of NO MORE CANCER!!

GO Blayne....you are my ROCK!!!

Me: Uh Oh, what's wrong? (I was thinking "OH NO what the heck did that boy do now...please please please tell me he didn't pee on your porch")

Mrs. Jennifer: Well, Blayne told me when I picked him up that yesterday he went out in the woods with his friends and walked to Sour Lake and got chased by a bunch of Mexicans with knifes.

Blayne: Well, I did!!!

Me: UUUHHH No you did not!!!

Blayne: Mom, you don't know what I do.

Mrs. Jennifer: yeah, i didn't think he was telling the truth, but it was funny!

Keep in mind that Blayne just turned 6 years old and we live in Lumberton which by google maps is approximately 19.4 miles from Sour Lake....and how the hell does he even know that Sour Lake exists?

Where the heck does he come up with this stuff?!?!?!

What makes this all so crazy is....about a month ago Roxy started looking for a popcorn machine for an upcoming party early next year. She is a great planner so she thought she would start her search early. I asked around for her to see if anyone had one she could borrow. No one had one so she started to panic and didn't want to buy one. THEN at lunch on Wed she mentioned her work party and said they would be giving one away...she mentioned how cool it would be if she won. GUESS WHAT...she WON!!!! YEA, Go Roxy!!!!

Two of my favorite things in the world are hanging out with my girls and of course Purses...what girl doesn't like purses?! It's like a drug, you can't get enough and no matter how many you have or how much it cost you keep going back and just have to have one more!!!

One of the girls in my office came in one day after attending a month of so ago where she purchased a new purse....so excited she showed off her new purse...the MICHE Purse!! OMG..it was the coolest thing ever, whomever invented this purse is a genius. For a mother of 2 kids who never has time for a meal much less changing her purse out from day to day, this purse is brilliant. It is ONE purse that has many many different “shells” to it. All you do is simply take off the outer shell and replace it with another!! Brilliant I tell ya BRILLIANT!!!! You can even go online and design your own shell with a picture or whatever you want!

The fun part is, I will be having a “Miche Purse Party” to show this off to all my friends on November 8th.

The kids and I attended a pumpkin carving party this weekend at a friend's house. The kids didn't seem too excited at first about carving a pumpkin...of course my daughter thought she was too good for it and it was nasty. Blayne just really had never done it before. Now I am 28 years old so you would think i would have some experience but this was a first for me too. Of course I didn't let that stop me. Once we got started both kids got really into it and loved it. MaKayla even got down dirty and put hands in it. HAHA

Here are some pictures of the kids....don't laugh i did say it was my first time carving a pumpkin!!! Poor thing he looks horrible...but blayne loved it and that is all that matters!!

The kids loved it so much we have decided to copy my friend and have a pumpkin carving party this weekend for Blayne's birthday. The kids are very excited and Aunt Roxy things she is going to have the BEST pumpkin. Well bring it on and lets just see who's pumpkin is the BEST!!!

80's Fashion.....I think???

So I play bunco with a group of ladies once a month and November is my turn to host. I have wracked my brain for months about what to do and finally I decided to do something a little different then the normal fall or Thanksgiving theme. We are going to "fall" back into the 80's and i am TOTALLY excited. I love to host parties, especially when dressing up is involved!!!!!! I just hope that all the ladies are as excited as I am.

Now I am 28 and was only a kid in the 80's so i didn't get to take full advantage of the great fashion, so I pulled a Laurie and googled 80's fashion (Laurie is the google "queen").

I am just not sure if I can pull this off. This is what I found when I googled "80's fashion"

Guess it won't cost me much to dress up for this party!!?!?!?!?!?

OK, here goes nothing. My first blog post!!! Who knows what took me so long to catch up with everyone else in the world and why I am taking so long to think of something to write in my first post.

Well, hold on to your hats and I hope you enjoy the ride.
Like my profile says, I am a wife and a mother of 2!! My son Blayne will be 6 this month and my daughter, MaKayla, is almost a teenager YIKES!! I also have a stepson who just turned 9. Life has been full of ups and downs along the road, but the last couple of years have been the hardest. In June of 2007 Blayne was diagnosed with a rare form of childhood cancer, Rhabdomyosarcoma, at only 3 years old. After a couple of surgeries and several months of chemo he has been in remission for over a year now and life is starting to get back to a little bit of normal, if you can ever call life normal. He still goes to Texas Children’s Hospital every 4 months for blood test and body scans and will for the next couple of years. So other then going back and forth to doctors with him I work full time and am now a full time soccer mom. Both my kids play sports and when my husband and I are not at work we are taking them back and forth to games and practice.
So what else can I tell you about myself??? I love football, playing cards, hanging with friends, playing bunco once a month with the ladies, cooking and NOW My blog…I am already addicted!!! This is fun and I have so many random things going through my head right now but we will get to that later. With a husband and two kids at home I never get a word in unless I am screaming and I still don’t think anyone hears me…except for the dog!
